A homeless woman accused of walking naked through a street Saturday allegedly told police she stripped down to cool off.
Crystal Roberta Johnson, 51, was arrested after a man saw her strolling through a yard on the 500 block of Franklin Street in Belmont while nude, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The complainant had been at McLean Funeral Directors, 515 N. Central Ave., saw Johnson naked behind the funeral home and called police.
Belmont Police Cpl. M.R. Stroupe found the woman in a van behind the home where she’d been seen in the buff.
“Crystal Johnson admitted she had taken her clothes off because she was hot,” Stroupe wrote in the affidavit.
Johnson was charged with indecent exposure and released on a $500 unsecured bond.
